Raquel Winchester a 16 year-old opera singer from Marabella in the twin countries of Trinidad & Tobago was named the most talented teen in the world and the 2006 Miss Hal Jackson’s Talented Teen International on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Symphony Space in New York City. Raquel
stole the judges’ hearts with her heartwarming rendition of “Think of Me” from the Broadway play “Phantom of the Opera.” She won the title from other young ladies between the ages of 13 and 17 from across the United States, the Caribbean and Canada. Raquel enjoys Art because it helps to develop her creativity, allows her to express herself and appreciate the beauty of nature. The aspiring singer, musician and psychologist would like to attend the Julliard School or Colgate University. She entered talented teens to develop and showcase her talent and to represent her country in a positive way. Through her participation in the program, she has learned about the importance of perseverance and teamwork for success. Her motto is…Philippians 4:13…I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! She has won a $5,000 scholarship to the college of her choice, a trip to the British Virgin Islands sponsored by the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, a trip to England with air travel sponsored by Apel Travel International, a diamond ring along with other gifts and prizes.
